Young patrons of the Jefferson public library will have new LeapFrog LeapPads, learning games and interactive books thanks to a $500 grant from Jefferson Elks lodge 2306. Children’s librarian Terry Clark said it felt like Christmas when the selections arrived at the library.
The funds came from the Elks National Foundation Gratitude Grant program, which is available to lodges that meet per capita goals of financial support for the foundation. The local lodge received a total of $2,000 in Gratitude Grants to support local projects in 2014. Other donations were made to the VFW and the Thomas Jefferson Gardens.
